Some of our engineers are at EuroPython the week! If you bump into any of them, ask about our community of #Python 🐍 developers, how we use it in our applications, our recent #opensource projects (#PyStack & #Memray), and open opportunities with our teams #EuroPython2024

I designed and assembled my first circuit board a couple of months ago, so I've officially moved from software into the physical realm. I've documented some of the journey in my yt channel if you're curious: youtube.com/watch?v=KCs7b8…

They can quickly cover this gap by acquisition. I'm sure that somewhere there's a startup which is "like tinder, but for hydroelectric dams"

Building stuff with 555 timers is the "Hello World" of electronics. And I've seen the datasheet of modern 555 versions, but I just came upon the original datasheet from Signetics (1973) and... wow Where do I have to sign to get cartoons in *every* datasheet?

In "Tipos, tipos, y otros tipos de tipos" at #PyConES2024 today (11:15 CEST), #opensouce contributor Daniel Moisset will explore many of the different meanings of the word “type” in #Python 🐍, and explain why those differences matter to its users bloom.bg/3XOhFh8

I am predictably triggered by this 1 billion loops benchmark thing. If you vectorize the Python, it's ~10x faster than Rust, C, etc. With less code! The point here is _not_ that Python itself is fast. It's not! The point is that Python makes this accessible, and even the norm!

Pocos se acuerdan que el "nazi de gravedad" de 1935-1945 empezó como el "partido con ideas que desacuerdo" en 1925-1935. Hacemos algo ahora, o esperamos a que el campo de concentración este funcionando y Polonia ocupada?

"A calculator app? Anyone could make that." Not true. A calculator should show you the result of the mathematical expression you entered. That's much, much harder than it sounds. What I'm about to tell you is the greatest calculator app development story ever told.

To be fair, he knew that if he wanted to be added to the group chat, computers would have to be invented first so he started at that point. That's called playing the long game
