A related observation about libvirt: qemu supports far more devices than the XML schema for libvirt allows for. Not sure why libvirt isn’t keeping up with qemu. libvirt does allow for specifying add’l qemu cli options but not always a workable option.

Apple is way late in offering this, likely in part due to law enforcement pressure, but I’m still thrilled. Actually it’s really needed, because Apple recently neutered local backups, see: discussions.apple.com/thread/2543354…

This is for anyone interested in Chris Robbins of “iWeatherNet” who ranted online about not ringing his doorbell and having his gun ready for the little girl who was looking for her pet. He posts crazy stuff on a regular basis. This was from a few months back.

Blue check Twitter can’t make up their mind if the #AllenTX shooter was an undocumented Mexican or an African American black supremacist. Both narratives are going around. (To be upfront: I have no idea and either is unconfirmed at this point)

#AllenTX resident here. Our Rep. Keith Self is on Fox falsely claiming that the outlet mall is a “no-gun” zone. In TX to keep guns out of your business, you must post a special sign. I’ve been to this mall many times, no such signs are posted. #FakeNews.

I’ve always been fond of the idea that legislators who pass severely unconstitutional laws should suffer some kind of criminal penalty. I know that itself would require an amendment but it would reduce a lot of the nonsense performative legislation that hurts people.

Twitter/X now whines at you if you mute advertisers on your feed. It doesn’t seem to stop you though, only complains at you.

No need to be scared of this, it doesn’t work. A scam. Remotes use a cryptographically generated “rolling code”. It’s not possible to guess the next code in the sequence by simply bringing it next to your remote and doing a keypress.
