Only < 1% of devs know how to produce simple, maintainable, long lasting code. Only those with skin in the game, when they have to live with the consequences of their own decisions and don't become guardians of complexity because they financially benefit from it.

My anecdotal observation: Meta Ray-ban glasses seem to have similar retention problems than VR headsets. Intriguing product, attractive price point. People buy but don’t use much after a couple of weeks

Superman (2025) is the first movie to my knowledge that has used 3D Gaussian Splatting. Only two years after original paper was published! Top comment on YT video from someone that worked on it! Source: youtube.com/watch?v=eyAVWH…

Many still think 3D printing is a “hobby” and for “tinkerers”. The Apple of 3D printers already exists and it’s Bambu Lab.

Confidence that we’ll move away from triangles / polygons next decade for most 3D content increasing. Meshes will still be around but not default.

Github stars heavily gamed and losing meaning. See projects going for 0 to 10k stars fast, quickly abandoned and never get real dev adoption. Just riding a hype cycle or clever social media marketing. Slower sustained star growth indicates organic interest.

Synthetic 3d gaussian splatting still underused and underrated. get super compact, hyper realistic assets that render like butter with spark
