I’m excited to announce that our first IBM Quantum Osprey processor, ibm_seattle (quantum-computing.ibm.com/services/resou…), is now live for access as an exploratory technical demonstration on our cloud services.

Today we are making two landmark announcements: -We introduce Quantinuum’s System Model H2, our second generation of quantum computers -Using H2, Quantinuum scientists created non-Abelian topological quantum matter and braided its anyons for the first time quantinuum.com/hardware/h2

Who said researchers couldn't run their own journals, ethically and at a fraction of the cost? Seven years of this project, a thousand research papers published in Quantum in six years, wow! Y'all make me proud! 💜

Can you improve a well known quantum code by only subtracting things? Turns out yes! Bacon-Shor's lack of threshold can be fixed by deleting the right pattern of gates from its circuit. Weird! Read about it in "Less bacon more threshold": arxiv.org/abs/2305.12046

@decodoku I contacted the authors of the paper, and they confirmed my guess that there was an error in estimating the readout fidelity that was used for error mitigation. They estimate that, after correcting this error, the fidelity will be between 90% and 99% instead of 99.97%.

Really proud of my team which tirelessly works on the development of design methods for #QuantumComputing—available as #opensource in our Munich Quantum Toolkit. To provide a better overview of these tools, we now created a flyer. Check it out! 👉cda.cit.tum.de/flyers/mqt_fly…
