Marc Garneau was my role model, mentor, 30-plus year close friend and a brave and exemplary Canadian for us all. My heart goes out to his family. The world has lost a very good man.

Marc Garneau loved this country. He loved who we are and who we can become. He loved this space, too, often writing with his characteristic wit. The first Canadian in space. A formidable Cabinet Minister. And a good and kind man. Rest in peace, my friend. You made us soar.
