I spent this afternoon looking for the remains of a Roman ford across the Clyde at Dumbuck, just west of Glasgow. The photo on the left is the better preserved southern portion on the Renfrewshire side which I visited a couple of years ago. Cont./ #archaeology #scotland

The two photos on the right from today from around Milton Island on the northern side. There's clearly a linear feature made of rocks crossing the sand that (to me) which seems to line up with it, but there were no definitive signs that this is it. Cont./

Any archaeologists/historians want to weigh in on whether this linear feature is, indeed, the northern end of the Roman ford? The Antonine Wall #glasgow #dumbarton #dumbuck #romans #romanscotland #scottishhistory #archaeology #scottisharchaeology

Real Madrid are an excellent team, but they think they're better than they are. They also believe their own hype, and play with an arrogance that gets you into trouble when you meet your match. They have comfortably met their match in PSG here.

Pulp were great at Tramlines last night. The set was a real love letter to Sheffield. "... somewhere in a field in Hillsborough."

Loved Pulp last night, they were amazing. But... Wouldn't be me if I didn't have a grumble, so... I was too far back at the start of the gig and some folk seemed to misinterpret this as have a chat to your big group of pals really loudly whilst folk want to listen to Pulp...

There should have been so much more reported and written about Oscar Onley in these past 3 weeks. Regardless, Scotland has produced a real talent that could turn into a cycling superstar. Chapeau.

Watching the ITV Cycling highlights of Tour de France™ for the last time. The UK terrestrial coverage has always been exceptional with the perfect tone and balance of features and coverage. Chapeau Gary Imlach, Ned Boulting 🏳️‍⚧️, David Millar and everyone else - you'll be sadly missed.
