We’ve had a really fantastic time at the Bradford Literature Festival this week! Students have learnt how to rap Shakespeare, how theatre productions are made and the power of poetry. Well done DMA! 📚👏

Year 9 have had a fantastic day at Bradford Literature Festival where they considered more being positive activists in our communities. We were all blown away when Elora Y9 performed this rap which her and Sakina Y9 had written during a session today about our academy’s values & drivers!

What a fantastic enrichment day! Today year 9 have visited some key historical and religious buildings in Bradford including the Gurdwara, Bradford Cathedral, City Hall, Bradford Wool Exchange and the Doha Mosque. Well done year 9! 👏

It was our absolute pleasure to host short visits yesterday from Year 9 and Year 7 students from Dixons McMillan Academy. The students were really engaged with the building and features - you are always welcome to come back for a longer visit!

Our first EVER cross-regional collaboration concert took place last night and we were treated to the most fantastic performances from our primary age students right up to our post-16 students! 🥁🎼 #TeamDixons

The finale of our incredible collaboration concert featured students from 12 of our academies across all four of our cities, and was a brilliant medley of music from our collaborative choir and concert band, so much talent on one stage! 🥁🎸🎻

What a fantastic few days we have had: our first ever whole school Enrichment Day, our Cycle 3 Employability Day, and of course the Dixons Academies Trust Collaboration Concert! Such an amazing week for students (and staff!) - onwards to Sports Day & the start of Summer!

Our final The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Y9 Bronze expedition of the year has been out in the Yorkshire Dales over the last two days. There’s been a lot of rain, chess and many compliments from the public about their resilience and courtesy - well done!

Such a fantastic final day of the academic year with Sports Day followed by our annual summer picnic!

The academy is now closed to students and will reopen for Y11 on Mon 02.09.24, Y7 on Tue 03.09.24, and all other year groups on Wed 04.09.24. Social media will not be monitored throughout the holiday. We hope all students and families have a fantastic summer!

As we celebrate A Level results across our trust this morning, we are delighted to announce that we are opening a brand new sixth form college! Dixons Sixth Form South Manchester will open in September 2027 🎉 Keep an eye on our socials for further updates. #NewSixthForm
