Some beauty to share✨

In the past year I was trapped between the two bodies of DiE and early childhood education. I appreciate the kind support and supervision from Sophie Claire Ward Dr Yuwei Xu 徐玉炜 and Dr Dimitra Kokotsaki. Now time to present my struggles and the very initial progress:)

🥹When starting my PhD I never realized the attempt to apply drama in education as approach into early years settings would be so challenging. Honestly, my confidence collapsed several times. Many thanks to all the inspiring feedbacks and kind support, you brought me light.

Landed in Shanghai after three days intensive sessions at BERA Conference BERA. Even didn’t manage to take a picture earlier! Next step: more data collection and drama practice in Chinese early childhood settings:)

I was thrilled and humbled that I got the third place of BERA Conference 2023 - ECR Presentation Award bera.ac.uk/award/bera-ann… 🌷🌷🌷I had a struggling year of questioning and readjusting my research, so this award means a lot to me. “Hey, keep on doing it!” It feels like this;)

It was a wonderful experience to attend such a big educational research conference. And lovely to spot myself presenting my PhD research☺️Thank you so much BERA It is also fascinating to view photos of other academics smiling, presenting and communicating with each other!

Many thanks to the committee of the 30th International Children’s Drama and Theatre Festival and its 14th Forum in Subotica lutfestsubotica.net/en. 💖I presented online about the possibility of drama as approach for children to develop an understanding of loss, time and life.

Day 1 at SEED Conference🌱This year’s theme is ‘improving quality and equity in early childhood education’, and the particular foci are assessment and playfulness. Attended keynote presentations and Sino-Finnish roundtable forum, met my previous tutors from Beijing Normal University:) Fruitful!

Day 2 at SEED Conf🌱I particularly enjoyed the keynote presentation by Prof. #Kay Tisdall from The University of Edinburgh . Her study focuses on how to include right-based perspectives into assessment in #ECE . Very impressive. Will collect her publications to read more:)

Last day at #SEED Conf🌱Thanks to #BNU for providing the platform where I had a chance to present how drama can improve playfulness and children’s participation! So glad that many researchers became interested❤️And my heart melted when I received a rose from a nursery child☺️
