Just a couple of hours ago my heart was bursting with pride seeing so many young people marching against climate change. Now it’s breaking hearing of Christchurch. How did we get here? This isn’t New Zealand. We cannot let this become who we are.

I've just heard that Te Atatū Baptist have opened their church for Muslims to do salat for the deceased. I hope other churches follow suit. United we stand.

There’s a lot we can, and must, do in our own communities. Not tolerating even the smallest racism around us. But it won’t do anything if internet giants don’t change. If social media companies claim they can’t change it, then shut them down. They’re doing more harm than good.

UPDATE: Due to indications of growing numbers and the Basin Reserve becoming available due to the cancellation of a scheduled game, we have made the decision to move this evening's vigil to the Basin Reserve. Please pass this on to others that are planning to attend tonight.
