These little #BlueBirds are getting introduced to solid food for the first time. Our Wildlife Intern Supervisor is feeding them #worms, which is helping them gain weight to become #healthy birds.”

These #birds have made friends. There are two #Robins on the right and a #BlueJay Fledgling on the left that are enjoying eachother a company while they get ready to be released.”

Here is a #Grackle that we have had in for a little while that is now out of its boot! This Grackle had curled toes syndrome, which is common in baby birds. His boot helped straighten out his toes. Now he can perch with no problem. #healthy #healing

Admiral Ackbar is so #happy, he is #singing because he just received his food bowl filled with #worms, #kibble, #nuts and #berries.

Here is a picture of a #FishCrow we got in. Fish Crows are usually seen in #DC by the water (hence the name) and they make a honking noise rather than the caw heard by #AmericanCrows. These crows learn to #cache (hide) food in the bottom right corner of the photo.

Update on our #BlueBirds. The one on the right has a boot to #heal a broken ankle, we hope they can make a full #recovery and be #released.

#Sunbathing is one of #Apollo’s favorite activities, unlike humans, he doesn’t have to worry about lathering on #sunscreen before going out. His mouth is open because that is how he cools down, much like a dog’s panting.
