A new survey of Harvard’s faculty & staff shows they’re even more reluctant to discuss controversial issues with colleagues than they are with students. Dissident faculty & staff members know their colleagues are more close-minded than students whose minds they work to close.

I think this is true, but I also think it applies to women; not a quest but a problem. We each of us need a problem to face, a meaningful obstacle to overcome. We seem to descend into a helpless sort of miserable navel-gazing without it.
