For #MathsWeek , Reception have been comparing numbers using more and less. The children have been using objects and number lines to compare numbers. Some of the children even started to write their own number sentences!

Nursery are continuing to look at themselves. They have been practicing drawing and painting a person, remembering to do the body. They are trying so hard with their fine motor skills too, we are very impressed #Resilience #success.

The children in Nursery have really enjoyed their first lesson on the apparatus #opentonewthings. We also had a cold but lovely Winter walk and a great explore in our forest area, we spotted snow, puddles, mud, fungi, shoots and very bare trees #communityspirit.

Reception have been learning about rainforests this week and had the best time Sunderland Museum! We went on a trail to save Lola the Lemur’s habitat from deforestation, walked to the top of the emergent layer of the rainforest and held some real rainforest objects in our workshop 🦧

Our theme this half term is Under the Sea and this week some of the activities we have been doing are: counting sea creatures, doing imaginary play with fish, playing a number fishing game and sorting fish in a variety of ways #communityspirit and #resilience.
