ㅤ steve froze at that question, letting out a silent sigh. he knew his mom probably wouldn't tell him anything but fear made room in his head. “ mom will you . . . always love me? in spite of everything? right? ” ㅤ

ㅤ when steve noticed the house phone ringing, he got out of bed huffing. who could possibly be bothering him at that hour? some other trouble? he grabbed the phone to answer it. “ that’s harrington house. steve is currently unavailable. ” the tone was playful &&. ironic. ㅤ

ㅤ “ good choice. ” steve made a small jump to join her behind the counter , taking the scoop to make her ice cream too. hinting a softly smirk. “ at least i’m not eating it alone. ” ㅤㅤ

ㅤ a sigh of relief, squeezing her mom in a hug. his fears had partly lifted. “ okay . . . i might have feelings for a— boy but i’m not sure. ” the words came out quickly, face hidden in his mom's hair. “ i don't know how it works. ” babbling, blushing suddenly. ㅤ
