The Auld Triangle, my favourite Dublin folk song. I first learned it from Shane Mac Gowan's incredibly powerful and raw version on The Pogues 1984 album Red Roses. Shane had learned this song from his hero, Irish poet Brendan Behan. Rest in Peace Shane you will be dearly missed

Auld Lang Syne, the Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, was set to a much older Scottish/Irish melody and is now sung all over the world to welcome the new year. Happy New Year from the west of Ireland!
