i don't know enough about the specifics of this to comment, but there's a dynamic that I think one dimensional thinking about equity does not catch where protecting accused of color can harm victims of color.

One lesson of recent campus events, I think, is that attitudes about debate and protest developed for issues on which there is no dissent on campus don't work when attention turns to matters about which there is sharp on-campus disagreement.
