Posted on #fannyfriday but also good for #phallusthursday: modern casting of ancient (?) coin (?) / spintria (?). But spintria usually has a number on obverse; I don't know of a coin with this scene on reverse. Bought at Rome's Porta Portese market b/c of course I did. Ideas?

I never would have heard about Rome not being real if countless academics had not linked to the video of Rome not being real with their hot takes about the problematic cold take about Rome not being real. Not sure what the point is.

Ancient Apocalypse: flaming bag of dog feces thrown onto your doorstep. “Rome’s not Real”: half-wit Hancock acolyte drunkenly spouting off at a party no one is or wants to be at. one is ok to respond to, one best to ignore.

Why do 95% of gift guides suggest an electric milk frother? I've gone this far without getting my milked frothed (not a euphemism) and I've turned out OK. #HolidaysAreComing

The vendor at Rome’s Porta Portese market assured me that this was a “fallo antico.” I, an inimitable archaeologist, knew that it was a “fallo moderno.” I still bought it for 25 € 🤡. It’s a whistle. You know how to whistle? You put you lips together and blow. #phallusthursday

Currently going around town pissing off teens and giving them my address. When they egg my house I scrape them off and eat them.

Developing fight in my library book: Reader 1, objecting to the word ‘disorientating”/“disorientated,” marks out ‘at’ in all instances of appearance (4-5) for “disorienting”/“disoriented”. Reader 2, at the end of the book, finally breaks. Do I weigh in, Kazuo Ishiguro ? #fiction

It has been really poignant and a privilege to witness firsthand the excavation of the room with the two newly discovered skeletons in #Pompeii and to follow the piecing together of the story of their tragic and violent deaths told through painstaking archaeological work.

Dad entered medical school before completing his last course for his BA from University of Arizona. It was his great regret to be the only Dicus without a UofA diploma. Thank you UofA Executive Office of the President for helping him. He died one day after becoming an official graduate. We are all Wildcats now.
