It was a public vote, most likely voted on predominantly by women's football fans, and the result was widely welcomed by women footballers. The untrammelled spreading of this sort of hate on Twitter is why I have moved to B1uesky. Account in bio.

Whenever I drop by this place, which is increasingly infrequently, it's just adverts for Premium interlaced with transphobia. The good conversations - between with people with strongly differing beliefs - are all happening on Bluesky now, with no algorithm to skew them.

I understand that Twitter/X helped to create important networks for many of us which are a wrench and a hardship to leave behind. But leave them behind we must, or our presence here becomes tacit approval of the fascist who owns it and the hate-promoting algorithms it uses.

There are now 30m users on B*uesk*, right and left wing politics, unionist and nationalist, etc. Feels like Twitter in the old days. There is now zero excuse for anyone to keep posting on this site other than to encourage others to stop. So please, make the move!
