Our team spent a full day meeting with divisions of the CDC Emerging Infections to talk about the needs of the environmental health workforce and opportunities to partner.

We just had great meetings with Senator Mitt Romney and Senator Katie Boyd Britt. Our members had the opportunity to explain how environmental health keeps states like Utah and Alabama healthy and safe.

NEHA members from California and Massachusetts wrapped up their meetings with Elizabeth Warren and Mark DeSaulnier’s offices. They asked for more federal funding for CDC and U.S. FDA.

Dr. Aaron Bernstein just kicked off the first day of educational sessions with a conversation about the future of NCEH and CDC Environment. He took questions about data sharing, regulations, and workforce shortages.

We were at the Senate earlier this week to discuss CDC NCEH funding with Senate Appropriations chairs Sen. Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Sen. Senator Patty Murray, and the importance of including the environmental health workforce in PH Loan Forgiveness with the office of Sen. Cory Booker.

We recently spoke with Rep. Haley Stevens office after they reached out to us to discuss the Plastic Health Act which focuses on the potential health effects of plastic exposure.

Congratulations to the Network's Director, Eastern Region, @KathiHoke, who was named the University of Maryland, Baltimore's Public Servant of the Year!
