From Dakingari in Kebbi State to Iragbiji in Osun State, important stories are unfolding every day. But too often, these local stories are left out of the national conversation.

Through the Collaborative Media Engagement for Development, Inclusion, and Accountability (CMEDIA) project, and with support from the MacArthur Foundation, we have empowered 26 media organisations across Nigeria to produce stories that focus on local issues, and drive reforms.

We are proud of what has been achieved so far, and even more excited about the possibilities ahead.

Tomorrow, we will sit with our partners to discuss the theme, “Lessons on local journalism and collaboration: driving accountability with local voices, grassroots reporting, and collective action.”
