"Perhaps you'll think before you say that God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just realize that he's the one
The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear, yes I think it's too late"

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Barrett as Research Professor of Theology at Trinity Anglican Seminary, strengthening our commitment to theological formation in the Anglican tradition and its expanding church-based formation efforts. shorturl.at/rgyk2
Tonight I’ve learned that Anglicanism apparently is a way station to Rome, puts tradition above Scripture, and is not in continuity with the Reformation. That would have been news to Cranmer, Ussher, Jewel, Whitgift, Hooker, Ken, Cosin, Davenant, Pearson, etc.
Protestantism didn't arrive in 1517. Celtic Christians were already saying "The Pope of Rome hath no jurisdiction in this realm" in the 6th century.
St Columbanus in a letter to Boniface IV:
Honestly, I don’t understand all the hoopla going on about Barrett becoming Anglican, especially from Reformed guys who have bookshelves packed with J. I. Packer, J. C. Ryle, John Scott, etc., while singing hymns by Augustus Toplady.
Let’s all take a breath, yeah?
Love springs from justifying faith, justifying faith does not spring from love, as St Paul and St Augustine say
"Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith" - 1 Tim 1.5.
If people paid attention they'd realize delayed baptism in the early church is actually proof of the universal acceptance of the *validity* and *efficacy* of infant baptism. That is actually a universally attested belief. It's the *propriety* of infant baptism they debated
Francis Makemie wrote in 1697 concerning Anglicans and Presbyterians: “That of all Protestants that differ from them [Anglicans], we [Presbyterians] differ in the least and smallest matters.” (Truths in a True Light)
While this is true with regard to some Anglo Catholics and there are Anglo Catholics in the ACNA, it’s not formally true of the ACNA itself which, by signing the Jerusalem Declaration, recognizes the doctrinal authority of the 39 Articles. There is nothing “blurry” when it comes
Just a reminder that there were Anglicans present at Dordt and not a single Baptist. Yes, we’re closer to Anglicanism, folks. It shouldn’t be at all shocking or scandalizing if someone makes that transition.
Christian magistracy is a natural duty of civil office, flowing from its nature and independent divine institution. It does not come directly or originally from the Gospel or from the instituted Church.
Magisterial Protestants believe God ordinarily works in and through the sacraments, received by faith, to convey his grace to his.
You can disagree with this, but please stop saying that this is incompatible with sola fide. It is God’s work. We are merely receiving by faith.
