2022 was very nearly the first year in a looong time that I didn’t read at least 25 books; having a kid & all has reshaped my reading life, & I’ve had to relearn how to carve out the time. Thanks to this quick read, it wasn’t. Thankful for a long walk, some porch time, & poems.

This week the 8th graders are starting THE HUNGER GAMES. We were so excited to have our tributes for Mrs. Kizer's class selected by Effie Trinket herself! Tributes from each class will serve as representatives for our competitions between the classes. Let the Hunger Games begin!

It was a gorgeous day to take our reading outside! 4th Quarter Book Clubs help show 8th graders that reading can be fun when you get to pick your book and read with friends. 📚☀️ Sometimes we have snacks too bc even adults eat snacks at Book Club. 😅

Body biographies are going well in 8th grade reading! The kids requested a group project in their last reflection letter, and this one has already been a lot of fun. I can’t wait to hang the finished products up our hallway. #springbookclubs #PalmyraMSproud

After a good conversation about books with a S two weeks ago, I’ve been on a reading kick! Started with two YA historical fiction books by the wonderful Laurie Halse Anderson and now an adult thriller from my favorite duo. Such a fast-paced read!

This summer has been a slow one for reading, but after a quick Mary Oliver poetry book and some time spent in an Andrew Murray classic, I’ve really been enjoying NOTHING TO PROVE by Jennie Allen. God is so faithful. 💙

Only on Chapter Two and this book is. Feeding. My. Soul. What a blessing it has been to learn about true humility this summer.☀️Also, bless my in-laws for toddler-free time and this hammock stand. (I don’t get to hammock in random places half as much now that I’ve got a toddler.)
