Is it just me who still struggles to accept the term "shoegaze"? Old enough to have been around when it was coined & I swear it had negative connotations ridiculing bands for a lack of stage presence? Always thought it was a shit name for potentially transcendental music

As a younger man, I believed in the inherent good of people, that caring for others & organising around the common good was ultimately the way to build a better world. The older I get, living with the persistent failures, the more it seems the only way is to burn it all down.

This idea that anyone can be a care worker is hugely disrespectful. Until British society properly values care workers & is prepared to adequately reward them financially, there will never be enough suitable British people to do what is actually a highly skilled job.

Listening to Skip Tracer & remembering how Lee Ranaldo singing "hello 2015" sounded so futuristic...
