Every child deserves a safe, healthy classroom. But DeSantis wants to end school vaccine requirements, risking outbreaks of preventable diseases and putting Florida families in harm’s way.

Alarming new analysis from Georgetown Center for Children and Families shows the rate of uninsured kids is the highest it’s been in a decade — and that’s even before implementation of the $1 trillion in “Big Beautiful” Medicaid cuts Trump & the Republican Congress passed this summer ccf.georgetown.edu/2025/09/12/pro…

Stories like this are more common than not. And this is *after* the governor and Legislature did a victory lap touting "relief." In the 2+ years since they finished that special session on "reform" (that mainly helped insurers) premiums in Fla. went up for 9 consecutive quarters.

"2 years ago with insurance rates skyrocketing, FL legislators called a special session, vowing to provide relief. & they did provide help… to the insurance companies. Homeowners however, watched their premiums continue to rise for 9 consecutive quarters" orlandosentinel.com/2025/09/16/flo…

“Florida tops the charts in more ways than one: In addition to carrying the highest median premiums, it also has the dubious honor of having the most homeowners paying over $4,000 per year,” the realtor. com analysis concluded. floridapolitics.com/archives/75664…

Ron DeSantis is actively helping some of the state's biggest developers – and Ron DeSantis donors – exploit a new state law that was supposed to ensure communities could rebuild after hurricanes... 🧵...

In his letter, Alex Kelly – the DeSantis aide who now runs the state’s Department of Commerce – specifically cited that provision in SB 180 when he warned Manatee County’s Board of County Commissioner’s against raising impact fees. (SB 180 = Chapter 2025-19 Laws of Florida)...

That letter, it turns out, was sent a few weeks after Pat Neal, a Manatee County homebuilder and a major donor to Republican politicians in Florida, bundled a bunch of checks to DeSantis, according to a local blog called the "Sarasota Phoenix." (I'll add link at end of thread)...

Hardworking families and seniors deserve real solutions to the affordability crisis, but eliminating property taxes just saddles us with higher costs while handing big profits to corporations for services that are currently public, affordable, and working for us.

Insurance companies should be held accountable to pay Florida families what they are owed after a natural disaster, but Republicans in our state sided with insurance corporations by passing policies that made it easier to deny legitimate claims from policyholders. (1/5)
