Rankings are dumb. One month you’re this good, the next month you’re this bad, where u play HS and AAU helps these so called rankings people. They are not traveling around the country and seeing all these kids. If they say they are…they lying. They making money off eager parents

Dennis Marshall Everyone plays AAU now. It’s glorified rec ball. When I was in school the top 2-4 kids (depending on program) played and everyone else played another sport or did open gyms/skill training in the offseason.

Coach Candid Dennis Marshall I don’t know but there’s more AAU teams, circuits and tournaments than ever. Hell they got 2nd & 3rd graders playing which is a joke. Numbers of players is at an all time high but skill is at an all time low

Todd Wolfson 15u is generous of you. i've seen 16 year olds from the silver division crush my sons 14u bronze team and it's somehow allowed. and the parents still yell "and 1" at every single possession. AAU is a scam.

I am so sick and tired about hearing who is the top 6th, 7th, 8, and 9th graders are. Every time I hear that, I take notes. Are they that when they are juniors and seniors. THAT’S when ish gets real and you see who can REALLY play. We crowning kids too early. For no reason.

AAU isn’t broken. The people involved and running things are what’s broken. Most don’t give a shit about kids. They about that bread. Plain and simple. Let’s call it what it is.

Dennis Marshall Yea like all the issues with grassroots are because of parents and not the directors and coaches who stay being shady figures. With all the greed and lies happening at these events if you remove the parents it would be even worse. The grassroots setup is a hot mess now.

Most parents just care about games. They could care less how much their kid needs to work on their game. They don’t look at their kid in these games and say “this is probably not something we should be doing as much” Some things are just common sense.
