While eating dinner on the deck, our 4 yo noticed the plants in the backyard. She said, "Dad, let's pretend all the plants and animals in the backyard are part of a family and everyone has a job to do. Wouldn't that be cool?" My kid imagines in community ecology.

*Coming home from work* Me: Hey kiddo h- 4yo: No thanks. Me: What? I just was t- 4yo: No time to talk! *4yo runs away*

It's always a treat to hear ShuMei Chang 張淑美 speak. She presented some exciting work on petal and pollen color variation in Geranium maculatium using survey and iNaturalist data. Rachel Perez-Udell did a lot of great work for her dissertation! #Botany2023
