As this year marks the 10-year anniversary of Dept. of Agriculture’s partnership with the National Baptist Convention, I was incredibly honored to speak at NBCUSA, Inc.'s 143rd Annual Session this morning in Baltimore.
Yesterday, I was happy to join Secretary Tom Vilsack, National Farmers Union President Rob Larew and National Farmers Union members at the 2024 Fall Legislative Fly-In. While there, I shared how Dept. of Agriculture is committed to better understanding family farmers and ranchers experiences.
After my remarks at the National Farmers Union Fly-In, I stopped by and chatted with young farmers about the future of ag. These folks not only represent the next generation of farming, but also the next round of leaders advocating for farmers and ensuring our nations agricultural system thrives
No one should go hungry in America. Last weekend, I joined DC Central Kitchen volunteers and Dept. of Agriculture staff to prep fruit and vegetables for local communities to ensure that they get the nutritious food they need.
As well as growing the relationship with our international partners here at the #G20Brazil agriculture ministers’ meeting, I also planted the seed for a Rubus plant, which is native to North America, with Carlos Fávaro and Paulo Teixeira.
