FAQ: What's the difference between HaveIBeenPwnd & Scattered Secrets? It's simple. HIBP: emails without passwords = unknown risk. HIBP's Pwnd Passwords: passwords without emails = virtually all false positives. Scattered Secrets: emails + passwords = real risks & actionable data.

In other words: an alarm at Scattered Secrets means that the data leak contains emails AND credentials AND the password algorithm is known AND we actually cracked your password. So you can take appropriate action based on concrete factual information.
