MILESTONE: The realignment of Highway 29 between Fort St. John and Hudson’s Hope is complete.
Working with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, we’ve built about 30 km of highway to prepare to fill the #SiteC reservoir as early as this fall. ow.ly/VIAV50P3yfH
Approximately 30 km of highway were realigned, improving safety and travel times along the corridor. Watch this video to see all five new bridges: youtube.com/watch?v=yxiMy9…
We have finished building the #SiteC earthfill dam. Completing the dam is one of the essential milestones required before filling the reservoir. We continue to target starting reservoir filling this fall. Read the announcement: sitecproject.com/earthfill-dam-… (1 of 3)
As we prepare to fill the #SiteC reservoir, we're strongly encouraging boaters to stay off the water during filling and for at least one year after.

We've worked with First Nations to incorporate Indigenous place names along Highway 29 by the future Site C reservoir. Dual-language signs in Dane-zaa Záágéʔ recognize the deep Indigenous culture and history in the area: ow.ly/IhuG50PQUMr #TruthAndReconciliationDay
We recently installed one of three transmission towers on top of the #SiteC dam intakes.
A total of 11 towers and three new transmission lines will send electricity generated inside the powerhouse to the nearby substation.

All public boat launches on the Peace River between Hudson's Hope and Fort St. John are now closed.
We're preparing to start filling the #SiteC reservoir in the last week of August. New boat launches will open at least one year after filling is complete.
We've energized the first of three transmission lines connecting #SiteC's generating station with the newly built substation. This is an important step toward achieving first power later this year.

We have begun safely filling the #SiteC reservoir.
For up to four months, water levels will rise between 30 centimetres and three metres a day. The public is strongly urged to stay out of the reservoir area during filling and for at least one year after.

Hon. Adrian Dix, Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions, recently visited Site C to get a firsthand look at construction progress.
Two generating units are in operation, providing power to BC Hydro customers. The third unit is expected to come into service soon.
We've reached a historic milestone with the successful commissioning of the sixth and final generating unit.
With all six units in service, Site C has the capacity to generate enough electricity to reliably power about 500,000 homes annually.
