P4/5 started their study of this book by reading the first few pages and then stopping to complete a #ReflectiveReading task, infer what's not there. An audible groan was heard when Mr Jeffrey closed the book! LiteracySBC #DenholmReads #BookWeekScotland

Inspired by Flotsam, we linked our Building Resilience theme, keep connected and making connections through time and that in the book this was done without ever meeting the people.Just like in the book, you may need a microscope to see! LiteracySBC #BookWeekScotland #DenholmReads

Like all the classes, P3/4 worked on the wordless picture book ‘Flotsam’ during Book Week. Everybody made a picture either from the beginning of the story, the middle or the end. Then we thought about what the characters might say!? LiteracySBC #BookWeekScotland #DenholmReads

P3 are thrilled with their Read Write Count bags! They’re ready to teach the grown ups at home the games and share the stories too. LiteracySBC #BookWeekScotland #DenholmReads

In P4/5 we spent some time sharing the books that we enjoy reading and discussing them. Some children then chose to use AR maker on their IPad to create a giant peach from the Ronald Dahl story Inspire Learning LiteracySBC #WorldBookDay #DenholmReads #sbclovestoread

Thank you so much to Graham GW Ecology for joining us. The nature walk is the 1st part of a diary written for the local flower show. Your knowledge and expertise was fascinating and really elevated the whole experience. LiteracySBC SBC Education

Our pupils from P5-7 loved the chance to cheer on the Lloyds Tour of Britain when it came to Hawick today. Our wee cycle team loved riding out front too! A day to remember forever.

Our tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Everyone made a candle and wrote a message about their memories of her. The Royal Family Overwhelming was the joy of her sketch with Paddington at the Platinum Jubilee. As he said so eloquently, Thank you M'am for everything. #QueenElizabeth
