I find it bizarre that remote work has normalized people openly not paying attention / doing other work while their peers are giving a presentation or talking. I used to throw people out of conf rooms for that. I give everyone my full attention on Zoom, am I just old school?

A play in three acts 1. Big thing happens to high profile person making them even more high profile 2. VC finds 20 year old photo from meet and greet in the bowels of their Facebook account, posts quasi-think-piece humble brag 3. Repeat

One of the biggest sources of brain-rot for founders are the imaginary arguments you have with ppl who aren't performing. I talked to a founder about this last week. Focus on literally anything else (ideally solutions) rather than spinning in your own head.

SaaS Goes Racing 🏁awesome to see tobi lutke + DHH (Basecamp founder) racing together in the Rolex 24 this wknd. Next, George Kurtz ($CRWD CEO) and Colton Herta on the same team, also in LMP2 class Finally, my guy Parker Kligerman will be out there holding it down in GTD class. LFG!

We’re in the middle of a big deal and our partner on the other side has a law firm using AI tools and the mistakes/errors from the AI have added at least two weeks to negotiations. Like any other tool it’s garbage in -> garbage out

Best part about this quote from Blake at Boom is that every late stage founder has said the exact same thing: "If I had known then what I know now, we could have gotten to this point in half the time with one-third of the money."

Just got a v bizarre investor update from a ~Series B co I invested in a while ago. A+ narrative around big results, ARR beating plan, NDR etc.. but not a single actual number? No clue what sales, rev, burn, runway is. Founders, don't do this!

Legal team at a public co I worked at set up a 'honeypot' in the CRM. Fake businesses were sprinkled across the 10M+ accounts, emails went to inbox that legal monitored. If an email hit the inbox from outside our domain they investigated. This is WAY more common than you think.

Distribution is an even bigger competitive moat today than 24 mos ago, particularly for vertical SaaS. In a world where products themselves can be cloned fairly quickly, having inexpensive, widespread access to your TAM can be *the* difference maker

Stoked to announce our integrated partnership with Justworks! HR and IT in one place, neatly integrated. Gives customers the best combination of flexibility, pricing and product quality. Excited to see how far we can take this ⚡️⚡️

This is one of the biggest blind spots for first time founders. Made extra difficult by the fact that it’s also the VCs job to act super excited up until the point they are no longer interested. Conversations are *not* term sheets!

Deep down many founders wish they were VCs and many VCs wish they were founders. True across many asset classes (PE etc..) It's why you end up w/situations like Eddie Lampert running Kmart from his house in Florida The allocator / operator paradox.

Hate to say it but he's more right than ppl want to admit. I had no VC network 18 years ago. I was making extreme sports videos and sleeping on couches. Weaseling my way to investors was the exact same infuriating learning curve required to get to team members and customers.
