We have been designing and making Egyptian collars.

We’ve been learning about ancient Egyptian homes so some of the children decided to build one with our wooden blocks.

We have been synergising to work out tricky maths problems. We are looking forward to showing you our work tomorrow at the open morning. #conceptualnumeracy

P2 have been drawing the inside of Willy Wonka’s factory. We had to listen to the names and descriptions of the different rooms.

The children have been working hard creating information leaflets about different aspects of oceans. They’ve used lots of different kinds of non-fiction books to help them.

We have been learning how to take notes while watching Blue Planet. We were able to write down notes that we can later expand on in our writing.

Yesterday we were practising saying our French colours by playing connect four.

P6/7 and Denbeath Primary 5/6 teamed up this afternoon to talk about children's rights. We heard some great discussions about 'needs' and 'wants'. There was some debate about how we ordered our needs and wants in terms of importance. UNICEF #rightsandresponsibilites #teamwork

The children did some beautiful interpretations of Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’.

A visit to Denbeath Primary 5/6 this morning during maths. A class full of enthusiasm for number, using a variety of strategies and working in pairs #LearningTogetherForAPositiveFuture

Today we were learning how to give directions and use directional language. For an extra challenge the children created their own maps and asked their buddy to direct them to different places.

This afternoon we worked with Denbeath P3/4 to design and build a bridge. We had to work together to decide which materials and building techniques would be strongest.

Our novel ‘Holes’ is set in Camp Green Lake. We discussed how a name might be able to give us a clue about a place. First we imagined what it might be like and then read the description in the book. Most of us imagined a very different place from the description in the novel!

On Thursday 14th November we will be raising money for JDRF, a Juvenile Diabetes charity, by wearing something blue. It could be a tshirt, a hair bobble or even your socks!
