To keep temperature rise to 1.5°C, we must remove carbon already out there in addition to cutting emissions. We need carbon removals: natural or industrial activities that remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Tomorrow, we'll present our 🇪🇺 Certification of Carbon Removals proposal.

To become climate neutral, deep and drastic emissions cuts will always be the core of our efforts.    But it is impossible to bring all of our emissions down to zero. We need carbon removals as well, through technology or natural carbon sinks. #EUGreenDeal

How can we successfully develop #CCS value chains in Europe?   By establishing a solid business case. 💪 Current incentives under the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme (#ETS) aren’t enough to fully underpin the investments by entities trying to establish CCS value chains.  A change
