My opinions are subjectively based on what I have seen. Believe it or not, I have not seen every match of football history - so there’s room for error.

Great thread The trend in modern football is a tendency towards completeness - in player profiles, coaches, tactical philosophy and club ethos No one can afford to “only” commit to possession or counterattacking You must be elite in all phases and possible situations

One of PSG’s weaknesses has always been set pieces. Donarumma improved massively in that aspect last season. Chevalier today totally unable to deal with balls into the box and headers. PSG’s defence definitely missing a commanding presence in area. Spurs cruising right now.

Kudus is also ridiculously good. The biggest reason that Spurs are able to put on such a strong showing. Keeping Romero and signing Kudus are far more important pieces of business than whoever Spurs have as coach. That’s a difference maker in defence, and one in attack. Crucial.

Virgil Van Dijk is far from being done, still capable of 2-3 more world class seasons at least. It will be tough to grow as a CB with Van Dijk and Konate so clearly ahead in the order. Guehi would also be ahead naturally. Not sure about this move if it’s meant to be development

Kang In Lee would be a very good needle player for a side less stacked than PSG. Really good fundamentals, quick feet and can still contribute as a squad role.

Mendes atones for his poor CWC final with a game winning penalty PSG still the best team itw but Spurs matched them today with a good performance Kudus, Kang in Lee and Dembele gave the game energy Chevalier hurt PSG, lack of threat from Tel + subs got PSG back into it

Football always been a game of time and space - transition game gives attackers more time and more space to carry out their actions. To exploit this you need speed, strength and unpredictability/creativity. To defend it, you need speed, strength and awareness/intelligence.
