Are you looking for ideas for a hands-on STEM session? Here’s a fantastic one! As I was opening my cheese wrapper, I realised that it had 3 layers. Upon research found what the 3 ply is made of. Let your kids do it for you! dailySTEM Chris Woods #STEMathome #STEMparents

Interesting STEM Projections, different projections of the spherical globe might stretch certain areas of the globe unequally, in this case this one stretches more the areas further from equator, giving us the impression that the northern hemisphere is way bigger than what it actually is

Teacher: “Can you name a technology that mimics the photosynthetic process in terms of energy conversion?” A solar charger! Solar to electrical to chemical. Connect the engineered world with the natural so that kids see why they are learning what they are learning. dailySTEM Chris Woods

What an a-MAZ-ing start to the school year! ♻️🎉 Grades 3–5 designed and built their own maze or marble run using cardboard, bottle caps—and just 30 minutes on the clock! ⏱ Best part? Each student will take their work home to share with friends and family! #STEM

Clever paper art by Zhen Qiang, a Chinese artist… Seems like something kids could try making with their favorite story, book from reading class, or a science or history topic

One of my students brought in an old laptop… a neighbor asked him if he could get the hard drive out… so I helped him find make & model and told him to look up online how to remove it. And he did it. And this is how we build problem solvers.

Today is a really simple game on the Micro:bit Educational Foundation which introduces learners to the game blocks in make code. Aim of the game is to get the sprite from one corner to the other as many times as you can in 20sec.
