Right when I got out of college, I answered an ad for a video editor. Producer offers to pay me in “shares” only after the movie’s premiere. I should’ve known better than to waste 5 months on a nothing project I wasn’t being even paid to work on.

One of my all-time favorite comedies, Buster Keaton's masterpiece SHERLOCK JR., was released 100 years ago today! It's jam-packed with amazing stunts and effects, and one hilarious sight gag after another. Here's one of the craziest jokes.

I love this BTS doc- lotta great subjects innit, including Kent Butterworth. Some nice 'Ralph' stories here.

Gorgeous animation by Marty Taras and Tom Golden from RODEO ROMEO ('46). (Tom Golden animated the scenes of Popeye waltzing with the bull and Popeye hitting the bull ring - the rest is by Taras.) Harry Foster Welch voices Popeye here, too.

Gordon Sheehan! (Gordon personally ID'ed this as their animation to a friend, along with many other scenes in ALADDIN.)

Jim Tyer animated nearly the first two minutes of THE ROYAL FOUR-FLUSHER (’47) - a really underappreciated sample of his more uninhibited work. Since Tyer didn’t direct this one, he might’ve had more leeway to cut loose.
