To me, the biggest surprises today were: - Wilkinson dropped entirely from cabinet - Carlos Leitão (former Quebec finance minister) not in - Labour no longer a full cabinet job, downgraded to junior portfolio. Federal sectors have seen a ton of labour disruption recently

New: Moody's announced it has cut its US rating to Aa1 from Aaa, the last of the three major ratings agencies to strip the US of its gold-standard rating as debt mounts.

It has already been a historic year for Canada -- a prime minister resigned, Trump started a trade war, all of his 51st state stuff, Elbows Up, a national election, etc. But if the Stanley Cup final is Edmonton v. Toronto, I think the place might actually combust.
