Never underestimate the power of context building. Ms. Greene’s See-Think-Wonder strategy incited such rich inquiry as students examined the map of Harlem.

Differentiated playlist can live in math instruction as well. Ms. Sabin has found a unique way to incorporate blended learning into her classrooms. Even adding in “collaboration checks” promoting students to discuss their problem solving.

Good leadership matters. AP Anderson kudos for leading such a welcoming and rigorous evening learning experience where students feel like “they can finally fly.” I’ll be repping my swag all over town!

To think I started my day at Spring Creek with Ms. R & Ms. Williams whose 9th graders were enthralled with the Hate U Give! “I’m becoming a better reader and actually reading a book I can relate to” - 9th Grade Spring Creek Scholar!

When I first started this blended learning PD partnership for 12 night schools and over 300 educators they said it couldn’t be done. “This is the most excitement we’ve felt about night school instruction in a long time!” I’m so excited to be invited back for the Fall!

Ms. Rodriguez is an incredible
elementary PE educator by day and a rock star health teacher by night. Her lesson on dating violence was equal parts sobering and a call to action for students to take a deeper look into their relationships. I was moved tonight.

Can we also talk about Ms. Leach who launched a differentiated playlist around double entry journals! Student agency took center stage as they selected a variety of modalities to help them to the finish.

Thomas Jefferson HS YABC Night School was incredible. Ms. Green literally made the Harlem Renaissance come alive in East New York with her exploratory stations! One of my favorite blended learning task I’ve observed all year!

Seeing is believing in Mr. V’s class! This AP still finds time to lead a class, and his stations on Jamaica Kincaid’s “Girl” included choice, padlet discussion, teacher led station and students leaning into productive struggle doing the bulk of the heavy lifting!

Ms Rubio completely crushed her station rotations w/ a teacher lead station, a video station and all materials translated in Spanish and Turkish w/ intentional groupings! Way to go Franklin K Lane!

Mr. Elliot in PE had one of the best station rotations I’ve seen year! Can you do 10 mini-exercises? If not he had modifications as clearly the elliptical was not my friend and I worked alongside a student. Never underestimate the power of your physical education staff!
