Kudos to FHFA for strengthening protections for mortgage borrowers who aren't proficient in English. Mortgages are hard enough to deal with when English is your preferred language and much harder when it's not. Lots of other good steps announced today, too.

Local landlords usually screen tenants out based on low credit scores. This disproportionately harms Black & Hispanic renters, who are more likely to have low/missing credit scores due to systemic factors, such lack of access to traditional banking in neighborhoods of color.
