With support from UNFPASomalia, we conducted an advocacy event to engage female parliamentarians from the FGS and FMS, along with UN representatives. Our primary objective was to advocate for the passage of the FGM bills & the implementation of existing laws. #FGMBills #endFGM

With support from UNFPASomalia, we conducted a one-day workshop for IDP camp leaders, Traditional elders & women’s groups on the impact of FGM, the FGM law & its provisions, effective implementation of the Act, & the importance of abandoning the practice. Football players have joined the fight against FGM. With the support of UNFPASomalia, we launched football tournaments aimed at raising awareness about the ending of FGM & promoting positive social norms within the communities of #Dhusamareeb, #Baidoa, & #Deynile districts.
With support from UNFPASomalia & Novo Nordisk Foundation, football tournaments were concluded in #Dhusamareb,#Baidoa,#Kismayo,& #Deynile.These events raised awareness on ending FGM, promoted positive social norms, & highlighted the key role of youth in driving the movement to #EndFGM.
Today in #Mogadishu,we held a public rally demanding that the federal MPs pass the FGM bill. The rally was attended by youth, women's groups & federal MPs. We called on the Ministry of Family & Human Rights Development to table the bill & urged MPs to pass it into LAW. Thanks to UNFPASomalia & Novo Nordisk Foundation
With funding from Novo Nordisk Foundation through UNFPASomalia, we conducted a Young Girls’ Storytelling Gathering to raise awareness on the harmful effects of FGM & to foster positive social norms. Girls shared their stories, promoting dialogue & collective action towards ending FGM.
We wrapped up a 2-day Support Phase training with 58 local community activists in Dharkenley, Mogadishu. With support from KOICA Kenya Office through UNFPASomalia, we used #SASA! Together model to strengthen community action to prevent VAWG & challenge harmful social norms.#EndVAW.
