My first Common and Black Terns of this year in the Gipping valley, Suffolk this afternoon. Spring Black Terns are increasingly rare in the county. Gone are the days when I used to see 100 birds at the west Suffolk water bodies.

Purple Heron, SWT Carlton Marshes, East Suffolk early evening. A mobile and sometimes elusive bird but did show well on occasions.

This gorgeous Spoonbill dropped in to the marsh at SWT Carlton Marshes, East Suffolk for all of about two minutes, before heading off north.

I have really enjoyed the wader passage in Suffolk over the past week. Here is the female Red-necked Phalarope and a Spotted Redshank from RSPB Minsmere 🌍 this evening.

Another spring day in coastal Suffolk produced this fine Black-winged Stilt at North Warren. A single Wood Sandpiper was also present on site.

Female Red-footed Falcon at Carlton Marshes this morning. Having earlier been in Suffolk, the male and female are now on the Norfolk side of the Waveney (viewed from the riverside path north of Peto's Marsh in Suffolk). Still present 07:38am.

There has been a good spring passage of Wood Sandpipers in Suffolk. This one showed well, albeit distantly, at Boyton Marshes today.
