This evening I glued my hand to the floor of the Oxford Union debating chamber, wearing a t-shirt which said “NO MORE DEAD TRANS KIDS”, in front of Kathleen Stock during her talk at the Union. Here’s why I felt I had to take this action:
The Oxford Trans+ Pride protest today was, besides hugely important, a hell of a lot of fun.
We advocated for and celebrated trans lives!
The creeps that despise us clearly just don't like people dancing and having a good time. Weird!
I’m ready to disclose the details of the prior restraint of my research. The culprit is University College London, whose lawyers instructed the executive editor of their online journal THINK PIECES to pull my essay. The essay is linked here.

Sorry to keep pointing out the obvious, but *this* is gender ideology. This is the state enforcing gender norms - what clothes you wear, what name and pronouns you go by. The fact that the proponents of this policy call themselves "gender critical" is risible
This is not Section 28. It's worse. Section 28 didn't mandate that parents be informed if a 16 year old said they were gay. It didn't say that straight students' well-being had to be considered in a school's decision to 'allow' students to be LGB. It didn't outlaw my trousers

I think everyone who considers themselves an ally to trans people should take a look at this, it's... not an easy watch, not by a long shot, but it's as good a look at the animus driving the anti-trans movement as you can probably get.
