Added a queen excluder and super to the Carniolan hive today. It’s amazing how quickly this hive has grown in comparison to the Italians.

Came home to find our Italian hive had swarmed. Luckily I was able to catch them in a nuc box. Hopefully they stick around.

Swarm number two has been successfully caught. Assuming both colonies survive we’ll have doubled our number of hives this spring.

Finally got around to adding a honey super to the Italian hive and inspected both Nucs. I completely forgot to replace the medium frame with a deep once I bought some more. I’m glad to see the bees made the best of it.

After tonight I think I'll skip next years awards. Ashamed of the direction country music is headed. #CMTawards
