Excited to share the next work of my PhD now out in J. Am. Chem. Soc.! We discovered that substituting the native iron center of nonheme iron enzymes with copper enables them to catalyze alkene oxytrifluoromethylation to form β-, γ-, and δ-lactones. Check it out!
