JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a

MPs that (falsely) associate themselves with the militant legacy of Jack Mundey obscure the fact that the BLF’s success hinged on tactics that the press now describe as ‘bullying’ and ‘intimidation’. Closed shops stop builders from using subcontractors to bypass EAs & WHS.

The ALP offensive against the CFMEU is about state budgets, developer profits, and factional convenience. jacobin.com/2024/08/austra…

Labor's current strategy of signalling that the electorate is simply too stupid and racist for reform should really come into its own when they have to ask that electorate to vote for them soon.

Zac Gillies-Palmer (@zaccygp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

‘Australians are too stupid to understand how great we are’. That’s the subtext of the ALP’s claim that a ‘comms problem’ is to blame for pitiful polling. Millions are experiencing a *severe net decline* in their economic position…modest welfare bumps notwithstanding.

This cartoon accompanies an opinion piece where the former Victorian Premier accuses the Greens of ‘extremism’. The cartoon depicts, amongst other things, protests against the genocide in Gaza. Chilling.

Heya mates — a nice bit of Jacobin Australia news. With support from the good comrades at SEARCH Foundation, we've just recruited a second Commissioning Editor for Australia! Zac Gillies-Palmer is principled and clear-eyed. Only problem, he's just not stressed enough — so pls send him your pitches!

With Labor catapulting itself towards minority government you have to wonder...is it really wise for Albanese to dedicate so much of the Government's time to painting Greens MPs like Max Chandler-Mather as extremists? Talk about a gift for Dutton in the long-term...

When Albo said he wanted to "kick with the wind in the last quarter" I thought he meant against the other team, not himself. The ALP's refusal to ban gambling ads is just another hapless 'own goal'. Even the most timid Blairites should see the ban as an electoral opportunity.

Zac Gillies-Palmer (@zaccygp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Insane that Albo would risk his public housing origin story/narrative to spend (at best) a week over xmas in his new mansion. Surely one of his staff suggested that he could simply...wait until after the election to buy a 4 million dollar weekender? Rly dumb.

My question to the ALP strategists today: Why would you stake your economic credentials on budget surpluses when YOU KNEW that a deficit was imminent?

Zac Gillies-Palmer (@zaccygp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

TBH this article is a bit unfair. It doesn't mention that AUKUS will create 20,000 jobs over 30 years. That's a mere 18 million dollars per job! Oh and passing command of the subs to the Pentagon means Australia won't have to keep track of its navy. Think about the savings!

Zac Gillies-Palmer (@zaccygp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Albo repeating the same strategic blunder is just sad at this point. Doofus! No amount of demonising lefties will appease Murdoch, big business, or the zionist lobby. They’ll always demand more and when you don’t deliver they’ll come for you! What a humiliating legacy as PM.

Zac Gillies-Palmer (@zaccygp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If our PM had a spine, he would’ve made Australia-US alliance conditional on Biden cutting off Israel’s arms supply. Instead, he pandered to the zionist lobby, villainising protestors & undermining the ICC. Cowardice, not cunning, paved the way for Trump’s announcement today.
