So fun!!

So much fun to surprise my 2nd graders at their houses today! I liked it as much as they did!!🎅🎄

Our virtual holiday party was a success!! Loved having some fun with these kiddos today. They deserve it after this crazy year!!

My room is almost ready for a new school year! Can't wait to meet my new 2nd grade friends!!

Fun math fluency games...adding on a measuring tape & a part/part/whole guessing game!

2nd grade scientists begin our 5 week observation of a maple tree changing through fall. Their drawings & notes were so detailed!

We learned about identifying character traits by brainstorming some for our favorite book character, Humphrey! Then, the kids tried it on their own.

Color run fun today at Hardy! We all had a blast!

The kids were so excited to have earned a pj's & stuffy day for filling up our jar. I was so excited that they read to their stuffed animals for half an hour with barely a peep! 💜

It took forever to cut out all of these little dollar bills, but my students loved using them for place value activities & to practice money exchanges.

We have examined place value through popsicle stick bundles, then dollar bills, & now place value discs. This progression from concrete to abstract concepts brings meaning to numbers. I wish I would have learned math this way!

The kids had fun with their 4th Grade learning buddies from Mrs. Patterson's class. They helped bees by creating a pollinator machine. So creative!!

Hands-on math is powerful and fun!
