It was great to have 38 mathematicians on Google Meet for tonight's York ISSP y=mx+c meeting. Today we should have been creating posters on rolling curves for our annual competition so instead of posters we are now creating Wikis!

Great first session online tonight looking at Pi! James (workshop leader) is now going to hunt down an actual pie for tea!

I had a wonderful evening helping to judge the y=mx+c poster competition. The Maths Excellence Club run by York ISSP James Ratcliffe is a fantastic provision for very talented Y8+9 mathematicians in York. Very grateful to the UoY Volunteering YSIS coaches for their support.

It's day one of the 2023 Masterclass programme for around 180 ISSP students in years 7-10. A hugely diverse & stimulating range of topics to engage, inspire & challenge, all whilst exploring this year's question 'What is Human?' #schoolstogether

Congratulations to Peggy (Y8) and her group on winning the y=mx+c and York ISSP Maths poster challenge. The judges were impressed with how each group communicated their ideas and loved seeing their enthusiasm for maths. Well done everyone! #nextgenerationofmathematicians
