Year 1 Ordsall Primary School are exploring what we would wear for different types of weather as part of our #science learning

Today in #English we have been looking at different types of books and sorted them into Fiction and Non-Fiction

In RSHE we talked about why we wore #oddsocks for #AntiBullyingweek and thought of ways we could be kind. We made a class 'tree of kindness' together by each adding a leaf of our own.

We have also become weather forecasters in Year 1 Ordsall Primary School

We showed our #Respect for #RemembranceDay by doing a 2-minute silence and looked at why it is important to show our respect. We have done lots of different creative activities this week in Year 1 Ordsall Primary School

In #Maths we have started our learning about shapes. Today we looked at 2D shape names and talked about their properties - edges/sides, corners/vertices. The children used shapes to make their own picture.

In Year 1 Ordsall Primary School we are continuing to learn about shapes. Today we have been choosing a 'sorting rule' and organising the shapes to match these. #Maths

This week we have continued our learning about shapes and moved on to naming, recognising and talking about the properties of 3D shapes #Maths

After making our smoothies last week for our DT project we have followed up and wrote our own instructions on how to make smoothies. The children were challenged to include time conjunctions, imperative verbs and ensuring the instructions for ordered correctly.
