Time to share more on XO 6: why we built it, what’s improved, and what’s next. It’s already 13x faster on 1000x VMs setups, with a new API-first core and a UI designed to feel familiar for VMware users. We built it for scale and it delivers! xen-orchestra.com/blog/inside-th…

Let’s just say: relying on black-box cloud AI might not age well. Run your own, or trust someone who lets you look under the hood.

We’re now maintainers of the Windows PV drivers upstream 🎉 Not just users, but fixing & maintaining things at the root. Like that time we found a vuln that made the largest cloud provider on earth to patch millions of VMs, thanks to our upstream fix. xcp-ng.org/blog/2025/07/2…

Can’t wait for the next release. Our VMware-to-Vates conversion tool is at least 16x faster 🤯 while supporting warm migrations (even on recent ESXi), and barely touches your host. That’s a serious improvement for all ongoing (and future) VMware migrations.

⚖️ Balance your workloads, boost performance. The Load Balancing plugin in Xen Orchestra (similar to VMware DRS) automatically redistributes VMs across your pool to optimize resources. We just refreshed the docs 👉 docs.xen-orchestra.com/load_balancing Do you use it yet?

If you’re in the Veeam® Software 100 Program, you can already try the new XCP-ng plugin 🎉 We’re also running it internally to give feedback, so the next version will be rock solid. Native Vates ↔️ Veeam compatibility is on the way!

We reviewed the recent NPM supply chain attack: Xen Orchestra production users (XOA or from source) are not affected: only dev environments could be at risk if yarn.lock was ignored.

2 weeks ago, ETH Zürich revealed VMScape, a new CPU side-channel attack. KVM and VMware are affected, Xen isn’t. Not because Xen is flawless, but because its microkernel-like design puts security first. virtualize.sh/blog/vmscape-a…
