Stir Fry Wednesday's are back! Made to order stir fry can be found at Harbor Lights, Mac Bay, High School South & High School North every Wednesday during lunch. Stir Fry meets all the components of the National School Lunch Program & qualifies as a free meal to all students!

We had the opportunity to take a tour of Gavin Orchards this morning to learn more about picking, sorting, processing and storing of our local foods. We purchase apples and squash from Gavin Orchards for our lunch program here at West Ottawa!

Do you know how farmers store their apples over winter? Apples are sealed in an environment that is about 3% oxygen, where the farmers control temperature, humidity, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. This makes the perfect room for their long winter nap!

West Ottawa Food Service had the honor of serving dinner to the Hall of Fame inductees, friends and family.

Students had a SPOOKY lunch yesterday with purple mashed potatoes & bat shaped nuggets all topped with a spider web of mozzarella cheese! Don't worry, those spooky mixed vegetables are below it all ;) Our food service staff sure knows how to have FUN!
