An excellent way to close the year! In collaboration with the William Tiznado group, a series of Li6E5Li6 (E=Si-Pb) sandwich structures have been reported in Angewandte Chemie. They are global minima with 10 π-electrons, but they are localized as five π-lone pairs! 🇨🇱🇲🇽🇨🇳
